Were you or someone in your family born there?  Were you cared for there? Were you educated there?  Did you work there?  Were you affiliated through supply, service, delivery, or construction?

We want to remember ‘The General’.

Bridgeland Riverside Community Association is proud to announce the development of a Commemorative Plaza to celebrate the 108-year history and legacy of the Calgary General Hospital.

In proudly acknowledging the 88 years this amazing centre was part of the Bridgeland community, we are enhancing the park footprint with special areas and information stations which will offer all visitors the chance to ‘walk back in time’ while enjoying the amenities of the park. For some there will be special meaning, with the opportunity to reflect, share memories, and learn (or be reminded) of the important role the Calgary General played in healthcare, education, and service leadership across our city, province and country.

The Plaza will enhance the existing Murdoch Park area with walkways, special seating areas, a gazebo and space for outdoor events. It will provide areas to socialize, celebrate, play, and enjoy the benefits of a beautiful year-round park for people of all ages and from across our great city and surrounding communities.

We welcome you to join us in making this all possible.
